PGA professional Troy Alsford has been appointed golf operations manager at Warwick Golf Club – a southeast Queensland country golf course established in the late 1800s.

Troy and his wife Kerry recently moved to Warwick from Melbourne to be close to their family and are enjoying renovating a local home.

The club’s vice-president Mary Young said Alsford arrived at the club at a time it embarked on a new business model for the pro shop.

“This is an exciting time for the club as it takes on the pro shop ownership with Troy being employed as the golf operations manager,” Ms Young told Inside Golf.

“Troy and Kerry bring a wealth of experience to our club having previously worked in a similar position in Victoria and New South Wales.

“With Troy’s experience using OneGolf software, he has introduced the club to many new features of the program and is proficiently managing our timesheets, competition results, fleet of 18 motorised carts and both social and visitor golf requests.

“Communication with members is one of Troy’s many strengths as he keeps us informed of course conditions, weekly events and all things golf through our Facebook page and email.

“We welcome Troy and Kerry to our club and look forward to a long association with them.

“With an attractive play-and-stay package in place, Warwick Golf Club is a popular course for trips away from home. Visitors are always welcome.

“The visitors’ competition fee is $25, visitors’ social golf is $30, play-and-stay packages are from $99 twin share for one round of golf and one night’s accommodation,” Ms Young concluded.
