RENOVATIONS are in full swing at Metung Country Club, formerly known as Kings Cove Golf Club, located in Metung on the Gippsland Lakes.

Metung Hot Springs recently took over management of the club, which boasts a Ted Parslow-designed nine-hole public access golf course.

Clubhouse facilities are being reimaged with a unique aesthetic, pairing the relaxed warmth of the region with high-quality luxe furnishings.

Metung Hot Springs and Metung CC managing director Adrian Bromage said the facility had employed a new chef and course superintendent.

“Lesley Eccles joins as head chef with a great sensibility for regionally sourced seasonal produce, perfect for our guests,” he said.

“After a round of golf, guests will be able to truly unwind at the hot springs with saunas, reflexology walk, massage and spa treatments and lush geothermal water bathing pools.”

The club’s newly-appointed superintendent, Clint White, comes with 10 years experience at Royal Melbourne and is leading the team to establish the Metung Country Club course to become one of Australia’s best nine-hole golf course and Australia’s first hot springs golf course.

The course, which has alternate tees, stretches to more than 6000m. It remains open during renovations. The large greens are guarded by bunkers and the fairways are generous. Two signature par-3s ensure an enjoyable day’s golf.

New members can join for a great-value offer including golf seven days, pro shop and restaurant discounts, access to practice facilities, participation in member competitions and events, golf handicap administration and reciprocal access to affiliate courses across the country.

Membership at Metung Country Club is $500 per annum ($125 for youth and $300 for under-40s). Visit www.metungcountryclub.com

Metung Country Club will relaunch in mid-October with contemporary day and evening dining options.
