GOLF cruise and tour specialist, Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours, has recently released a golf cruise from Rome to Barcelona sailing for eight days/seven nights (13 to 20 July 2026) on five-star luxury cruise ship Explora I, with the option of four nights/two golf games pre-cruise and three nights/two golf games post-cruise in Rome and Barcelona respectively.
The well-crafted cruise itinerary follows the northern Mediterranean coast line, with a deviation to the Balearic Islands, visiting and golfing at several famous ports including Monaco, St Tropez and Valencia. Importantly, the tour is split into four components, with guests having the ability to elect one of the four options which offer stand-alone tours of seven nights, 10 nights, 11 nights and 14 nights respectively – all of which include the seven-night golf cruise.

Explora I is a recently built, all-balcony luxury cruise ship, accommodating a maximum of 900 guests on a twin share basis but frequently travelling with fewer due to its popularity among singles. It offers a staff to guest ratio of 1:1.25, among the highest in industry. All guests enjoy a spacious suite – equivalent in size/specification to the balcony suites on Silversea, Seabourn and Crystal, the three cruise lines TTGT traditionally uses for its deep-water golf cruises.
From a value perspective, TTGT is selling well located and highly inclusive balcony rooms forming part of their group allocation for under AUD$1,800/night (less than $900 pp) – exceptional value in the luxury cruise market and below the Explora web page rate.
For single travellers, TTGT has a special offer where it can sell at discounted pricing with only a modest 25 per cent single supplement. This represents excellent value for the single traveller at around AUD$1,100/night.
Independent reviews of Explora I report that it is a game changer in the luxury small ship cruise market with no expense spared in its construction and luxury appointments.

Choose as much or as little golf as preferred, that is play as few as one or as many as five games on the cruise component, with up to another two games in Rome and up to a further 2 games in Barcelona. An exceptional selection is offered including three games at top courses in Italy, twice at Marco Simone (Ryder Cup 2023 venue) and once at Argentario Golf Club (2025 Italian Open venue). In Spain, the tour will play at two of the top four ranked Spanish courses.
As with all Trendsetter tours, a price adjustment is offered to non-golfers, Courtesy of Trendsetter’s Virtuoso affiliation and Explora, each cruise guest will be gifted EUR 250 per person
onboard credit to spend as they wish. In addition, as a special promotion, each suite on the ship will receive an $600 credit which can only be used for Explora shore excursions.
