LUXURY golf cruise tour operators, Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours (TTGT) has recently released the itinerary for its Milan to Amsterdam golf cruise.  The 14-night tour, which sets sail from May 16 to 30, 2026, comprises an 11-night Tauck tour including seven-night cruise on the Rhine River over-laid with a TTGT golf programme which comprises seven games of golf, welcome and farewell dinners and three extra nights staying in Utrecht at the conclusion of the river cruise.

This is TTGT’s inaugural golf cruise down the Rhine River, a route scoped in detail by TTGT’s directors in September 2024. The Rhine is a magnificent river offering history, stunning views and picturesque cities and towns to stop at as you meander north upriver.

TTGT’s tour starts with a four-night stay in Milan at the five-star Hotel Principe di Savoia, a splendid landmark building built in the 1920s and decorated in classic Italian Art Deco style.  There guests will enjoy two games of golf, a day tour including a cruise on Lake Como and a private evening viewing of Leonardo da Vinci’s famed mural, The Last Supper.

The tour sees guests travel through five countries – Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and Netherlands. Golf is on the itinerary in all five countries, although the golf while in Switzerland is just over the border in France.  In total, during the seven-night cruise, guests will play golf games three times, twice in France and once in Germany.

Prior to boarding the cruise in Basel (Switzerland), guests will be driven by coach to Lugano (Switzerland), where after free time exploring this town, guests take a high-speed train to Basel, a journey through the mountains making use of many tunnels including the Gotthard Base Tunnel.  At 35 miles long, this is the longest railway tunnel in the world, a major feat of engineering that took 17 years to complete.  On arrival in Basel, guests embark on the Tauck riverboat, MS Grace, for a seven-night cruise to Amsterdam, passing through many famous and historic towns and cities in both France and Germany.

Guests overnight onboard in Amsterdam before disembarking the following morning. A 45-minute coach transfer follows to the beautiful historic city of Utrecht, with its unique location among a series of canals.  This city is a short train journey to Amsterdam.  Guests stay three nights in Utrecht at a hotel with generous rooms which include a walk-in shower, separate spa pool and private sauna.  The historic centre of Utrecht, with its many bars and restaurants, is a short stroll for guests from their hotel. Two games of golf are scheduled while based in Utrecht plus a free day with no scheduled activities.  Utrecht is an ideal location for guests to base themselves for the final three nights of the tour, handily placed for the final two games of golf in the Netherlands and with excellent train connections either back into Amsterdam or to the nearby international airport at Schiphol.

This golf cruise is guaranteed to proceed and the TTGT tour is now 70 per cent sold.  For more information, please refer to the itineraries on www.trendsettertravel.com.au/GC64, email david@trendsettertravel.com.au or phone 0413 010 638.
