AS we conclude another year, we must take a breath to note how good golf manufacturers have been this year in producing new and improved equipment in making the game more enjoyable and fun! Not to underestimate what I have for you this month, but as I take a quick peak forward into 2026, I can assure everyone it’s going to be bigger and better than 2025!
For this December ‘We Tried it’, I want to introduce everyone to a first in my time in golf. Our friends at MGI have produced arguably a game changing buggy or push cart that will turn heads and give everyone an opportunity to be a part of history!
The MGI E-BOOST is the first I have seen where a push buggy meets smack bang with the best features of an electric. The E-BOOST for the most part (99%) is a buggy that we push, however the E-BOOST comes to life and we can use it with features of an electric buggy. It is simple and effective!
Onto my round of golf and something that I thought could be an issue is the weight of the battery on the buggy. This wasn’t really any issue at all, especially when it came to walking up, down and into the slopes on the fairway. It is even better than I could have imagined. I did play a relatively flat course, however when we were entering the back nine there was a significant hill, this being the first real chance to give the E-BOOST component a run.

What MGI have done, similar to their electric buggy, is to have a button towards the middle of the handle where you can alter to your preferred speed. So simple yet so effective. I cannot fault the E-BOOST at all, and I was looking hard at what it can’t do. It folds down seamlessly, it’s extremely durable and weight effective and just possess everything you would like in a push buggy. And once the E-BOOST function is activated, it turns into a battery assisted electric buggy.
This buggy isn’t designed for your current electric uses, it is for those golfers looking to transition from a 100 per cent push buggy wanting to dip their toes into a battery/electric model. If this is you, then the E-BOOST is the ideal buggy.
I have a stand bag currently and it fits on the buggy brilliantly, while I have no fears of other bags not being able to fit.
In closing, the MGI E-BOOST is truly a glimpse into the future of golf buggies. It bridges the gap between traditional push and full electric in a way that’s practical, clever, and just plain fun to use.
For golfers wanting to make walking the course a little easier without fully committing to an electric, the E-Boost is a perfect step forward. MGI have once again set the standard for innovation and quality — and I can’t wait to see where they take it next!
