Callaway has been pursuing excellence since the 2000 release of its trend-setting Rule 35 model; its momentous entry into the burgeoning golf ball market. Now, in 2024, Callaway is taking another innovative step in overhauling its highly-successful Chrome Soft ball family; making way for two new premium players’ models: the Chrome Soft Tour and the slightly-firmer Chrome Soft Tour X.

These high-performance 4-piece balls, based on Callaway’s Tour-tested CDX prototype, are new from core-to-cover; sporting dynamic Hyper Fast Soft cores, significant mantle modifications and spin-formulated urethane covers. In addition, both models benefit from Callaway’s seamless Tour Aero construction which facilitates the penetrating ball flight preferred by low markers.

Callaway notes that the Chrome Soft Tour ball is suited to better players seeking more soft-feel distance; while the Chrome Soft Tour X is designed more for the very best ball strikers who desire added speed and enhanced control.

NOTE: The market-leading Chrome Soft ball, which had its debut in 2015, also receives a technical make-over; sharing many of the core and cover enhancements of its new Tour cousin. As such, it remains the ideal choice for aspirational players seeking the advantages of a tour-quality ball.
