Minjee amongst nine of the women’s world’s top 10 to compete in ‘Asia’s Major’

A star-studded field, one including Australian Minjee Lee and nine of the world’s top 10 players have confirmed to compete at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore from February 26 to March 1 in the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship.
Alongside Lee, the World No 3, and headlining one of the strongest fields in women’s professional golf, are rankings leader Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, Japan’s No.4 Miyu Yamashita, No.5 Charley Hull and defending champion and World No.6 Kiwi Lydia Ko.
Collectively, these players have amassed over 20 LPGA Tour titles, including four major championships, with Minjee having won three of the LPGA majors.
While the final field had yet to be confirmed, 2025 Evian Masters champion Grace Kim, WA’s Hannah Green, along with young guns Stephanie Kyriaciou and Gabby Ruffells also competed in last year’s HSBC World Championship.
Thitikul, who enjoyed a standout 2025 season, securing three victories, including the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship for the second consecutive year, is set to make her fifth appearance at the event.
The Thai superstar boasts an impressive record at Sentosa, finishing inside the top 10 in all four previous starts, including a tied second-place finish in 2025.
“I’m really excited to return to Singapore for the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Sentosa Golf Club is such a special venue, and this tournament always brings together the strongest field in women’s golf,” Thitikul said. “After finishing so close last year, I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully putting on a great show for the fans in Singapore.”
Further strengthening the world-class field are world top 10 ranked Ruoning Yin of China, Hyo Joo Kim and Sei Young Kim from Korea, as well as Japanese professional Mao Saigo.
“HSBC is thrilled that nine of the top 10 players have committed to competing in the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship, reinforcing Singapore’s status as a premier destination for world-class golf,” Wong Kee Joo, CEO of HSBC Singapore, said. “We look forward to welcoming these exceptional athletes to Singapore for another memorable edition of ‘Asia’s Major’.”

Of the event’s 17 past editions, 15 have been won by major champions, underscoring the tournament’s reputation as a showcase for the world’s elite golfers.
The 72-hole stroke play championship will once again take place on the widely acclaimed Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, a venue which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024 and is hosting the event for the 12th time.
Sentosa continues to receive global recognition for its leadership in sustainable golf and championship venue status, with The Serapong recently being named Asia’s Best Golf Course and Singapore’s Best Golf Course at the 2025 World Golf Awards.
One of Asia’s most prestigious and established golf destinations, the course is located on Singapore’s iconic Sentosa Island, with the Club featuring two world-class championship courses, The Serapong and The Tanjong, set against a striking city skyline backdrop.
