Golf Fore a Cause

Australian golf retailer Drummond Golf’s “Golf Fore a Cause” initiative has announced a partnership with Lifeline Australia, Australia’s largest suicide prevention service.

Over the next three years, Golf Fore a Cause has pledged to donate $250,000 to Lifeline. The donation will provide much-needed support so Lifeline can continue to be there for the most vulnerable in our communities who are experiencing a crisis and need help.

“Particularly in the current climate, connection on and off the golf course is vital,” explains Ravi Abeyaratne, Marketing Director of Drummond Golf.  “This is why we are pleased to announce the 3-year partnership with Lifeline Australia to meet increased demand for mental health support. As Australia’s Biggest Golf Retailer we recognise the important role we play in not only creating a mentally healthy workplace for our employees but a suicide-safe community for all of our customers.”

Every 30 seconds, a person in Australia reaches out to Lifeline for help. Every day, eight Australians die by suicide. That’s more than double the road toll.

Lifeline relies on the support of members of the community to ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.

Every person who connects with Lifeline helps to reduce stigma around mental health and suicide and create a more informed and compassionate society.  Every connection counts.

Drummond Golf customers can make a donation at checkout, both in-store and online (www.drummondgolf.com.au/donation/index/donate).
