Golfers tee it up for Golf MONTH

Golf facilities across Australia have thrown open their doors for GOLF MONTH, starting today.

More than 200 facilities throughout the nation have committed to stage a variety of activities to encourage those who have never hit a ball, those who haven’t done so for ages, or those who are on the course every week – all with an emphasis on fun and engagement.

Golf Australia chief executive Stephen Pitt, on behalf of supporting partners, said a key objective of the campaign was to incentivise current golfers to introduce a new member.

“Research tells us that most people are introduced to the game whether by personal acquaintances, friends or family. Therefore the game has the opportunity to grow by using its existing golfers to be our promoters and to share the game,” Pitt said.

“We are delighted with the support we have received from the industry to this important initiative with more than 665 activities and offers already available. It will allow golfers, new and existing, to rediscover friends, family, focus, fun and drive – and all in beautiful and healthy environments.”

And for club members who introduce a new member, there is the chance to go in the draw to win a “money-can’t-buy” 2015 Emirates Australian Open experience in Sydney next month.

There are more than 20 ways you can experience GOLF MONTH. Activities are on offer for people of all ages and abilities and will include Come ‘n’ Try clinics, Swing Fit programs, women’s beginner programs, open and family days, MyGolf junior programs, lessons with PGA professionals and there will be great club membership offers available.

The diversity of golf activities on offer also extends to new formats of the game where you can play golf in innovative ways such as speed golf, foot golf, urban golf or even the new “big-hole” golf.
