Golf Australia (GA) has announced a new multi-year major partnership with insurance specialist, Apia.

Apia will be recognised as an official partner of GA’s Get into Golf seniors’ program, and will support participants in staying active, connected to their community and learning the skills of the sport.

Apia will also be an exclusive partner of all GA event volunteers and an official partner of major events across the Golf Australia calendar when they resume.

Apia will connect directly with Australian golfers through www.golf.org.au and GA’s handicap system, where more than 38,000 golfers check their handicaps daily.

Chief executive James Sutherland said Golf Australia was excited about the partnership’s synergies.

“Apia has a goal to help Australians enjoy longer, happier and healthier lives in retirement and this is something that we hope to directly influence through the health and wellbeing benefits of more people playing more golf,” Sutherland said.

“We look forward to working with Apia with the shared goal of driving golf participation and rewarding golfers across the country.”

Apia’s CEO Insurance Products & Portfolio, Lisa Harrison, said the team was incredibly excited about the opportunity to partner with Golf Australia.

“At Apia, we’re all about the possibilities, and offering our customers access to opportunities and experiences so they can enjoy the good life in retirement,” Harrison said.

“Participating in golf is a great way for older Australians to stay active and connected, so we’re looking forward to working with Golf Australia to deliver a range of activities and events in 2021.”

Apia is a specialist insurer there to help their customers to set themselves up so that they can enjoy the good life in retirement. They use their unique character, experience and understanding to provide products and services exclusively designed for this stage of life.
