AGED care facilities in Australia are growing like topsy and one of the leaders in this field is Regis Aged Care.

Many senior and veteran golfers who prefer playing golf to mowing the lawn and trimming hedges are opting to move into a Regis Aged Care facility.

There are plenty to choose from.

Currently, there are 63 Regis facilities across the country.

Regis offers residential aged care, retirement villages and it also offers home care, day respite and day therapy centres.

Oftentimes aging is not a popular topic of conversation, but people (even golfers) eventually grow old and their health deteriorates.

Regis Aged Care facilities have that covered by offering services such as dementia care and palliative care.

Still, the nice thing about Regis is they are avid supporters of golf and for the second successive year are sponsoring a Go Golfing event.

“We started in 2018 in Port Stephens and our last event was on the Gold Coast which was fantastic,” Regis Business Development Manager (Qld/NSW) Benn Hopgood said.

“We also have an event coming up with Go Golfing in Launceston (Tasmania), which will host over 600 golfers.”

This is not Regis’ first arrangement sponsoring and supporting golf.

“Over the past 25 years Regis has partnered, on a small scale, with golf courses all over Australia by supporting local events,” Hopgood added.

“Over the next 12 months Regis will be attending and supporting at least six golf events ranging from small sponsorship that includes supplying prizes and playing to large events hosted by Go Golfing where we support events catering for up to 600 golfers.”

Hopgood said the main object of the partnership with golf clubs and golfing businesses was to demystify the entry into aged care.

“Our aim is to engage the community to talk about aged care and bring a positive awareness to the industry and showcase the great community engagements we partake in,” he said.

For avid golfers, Regis has a number of excellent facilities close to golf courses including Bulimba in Brisbane and Rose Bay in Sydney.

Regis says it is passionate about residents enjoying their favourite pastimes including golf, participating in new activities and forming new friendships.
