AFTER many years, he is off.
Christian Gillott last month resigned as general manager at Newcastle Golf Club after an impressive six years (2017-2022) at the helm.
The Queenslander decided he wanted to return home to be close to family and has taken on an advisory role at Indooroopilly Golf Club.
Prior to the top job at Newcastle Golf Club, Gillott was the assistant general manager at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney for seven years.
And before that (2007-2010) he worked in golf operations at Golf Australia.
MEANWHILE, Andrew Webb, the popular golf operations manager at City Golf Club in Toowoomba, has left the club.
He has been appointed assistant general manager at Toowoomba Golf Club at Middle Ridge.
Aftter a decade and a half, Webb pulled the pin one day before Christmas 2022.
“After 15 years working within the pro shop, golf and operations at City Golf Club there is no doubt I have mixed emotions,” he told members.
“I have worked with some incredible people and made many friends – both colleagues and members.”
City Golf Club put on a nice lunch and cake for Webb, which he appreciated.
“I look forward to my new role as assistant manager at Toowoomba Golf Club,” he concluded.
