GOLFERS across Australia will be familiar with the Sunshine Coast Classic—a hugely popular destination tournament that continues to attract strong interest from players looking for a professionally run, enjoyable week of golf in one of the country’s favourite golfing regions.
In 2026, the team behind the Sunshine Coast Classic is expanding its tournament offering with the launch of a new umbrella brand – Classic Golf Events.
Classic Golf Events brings the Sunshine Coast Classic together with an exciting new addition to the national tournament landscape: the Mornington Peninsula Classic, debuting in April–May 2026.
While the brand is new, the values remain the same—well-organised tournament weeks, premium courses, welcoming atmospheres and memorable destination experiences for golfers of all ages and abilities.
Played across four of Victoria’s most acclaimed layouts: St Andrews Beach, The Dunes, Portsea, and Moonah Links, the Mornington Peninsula Classic will be held from Sunday 26 April to Friday 1 May 2026. Each course offers its own style, character and strategic challenge, giving players a diverse and highly enjoyable week of golf on one of Australia’s most celebrated golf regions.
The event includes four days of stableford competition, motorised carts, daily lunches, player gifts, grade prizes and access to exclusive accommodation deals at three of the participating courses.
The long-standing Sunshine Coast Classic also returns in 2026 with two tournament weeks—the June Classic and August Classic—featuring Maroochy River, Palmer Coolum Resort, Noosa Springs, and Twin Waters. The Sunshine Coast series has earned its reputation for offering a relaxed, friendly tournament environment paired with ideal weather and consistently high-quality golf across four outstanding courses.
Classic Golf Events focuses on delivering polished tournament experiences that combine competitive golf with the enjoyment of travelling, meeting fellow players and experiencing two of Australia’s premier golf destinations.
With entries for all three events expected to fill quickly, golfers are encouraged to explore the schedule early and secure their preferred tournament week.
