PALM Lake Group’s most opulent and luxurious over-50s resort project yet has officially commenced – and there’s an even more exciting aspect for golfers.

Pelican Waters Golf Course is also part of the Palm Lake Group portfolio and hugs the eastern boundary of the highly anticipated Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters lifestyle community. Originally designed by Greg Norman, the course is undergoing an exhaustive reconfiguration to enable the over-50s community to spring to life. The reconfiguration works is being completed under the watchful eye of Norman and his team, to ensure the course retains its status in golfing circles. Pelican Waters Golf Course has been ranked number 1 public access golf course on the Sunshine Coast and also number 25 in the top 100 public access courses in Australia.

Before the project even commenced, Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters was leaps and bounds ahead of the competition with thanks to its remarkable location. The resort masterplan was designed to take advantage of both the Sunshine Coast’s impressive natural environment and wildlife-filled waterways, and the stellar golf course which has, for two years now, played host to the Isuzu Queensland Open.

With 28 addresses across three states of Australia and 45 years’ experience in developing over-50s community lifestyle resorts, Palm Lake Group has big plans for the 321 custom-designed homes proposed for this community.

Homeowners will enjoy water frontage and direct golf course access and all those world-class facilities that the Palm Lake Resort brand is renowned for. This includes an impressive lakefront Community precinct offering a dedicated Social Country Club, a Sports Centre and a Wellness Centre.

For those more active residents, the Sports Centre will include an eight-rink undercover lawn bowls green, tennis and pickleball courts as well as a golf simulator room within a separate sports clubhouse. A table tennis room attached to the Sports Bar will also feature here.

From a social perspective, the Country Club will be home to a main lounge and dining area, luxury movie cinema and an outdoor pool, cantilevered over the adjacent waterway. Palm Lake Resort’s proven fun-magnet – a four lane tenpin bowling alley will also feature here. If other Palm Lake Resort locations are anything to go by, the resort bar here will be a popular social meeting place, as will the planned billiards room.

To round out the Community Precinct offering, residents’ wellness will be supported via an exclusive Milon gymnasium, yoga and Pilates studio, salt therapy room, sauna, indoor heated pool, library, craft room and more.

Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters is one element of a greater total luxury precinct emerging here at Pelican Waters. As well as the over-50s resort and Greg-Norman designed Pelican Waters Golf Course, there’s a dramatic upgrade of the Pelican Waters Hotel underway right now that will see a world-class hotel style facility available not only to club members, but also the wider local community.

There will also be a new stand-alone pro shop, training academy, mini golf, pitch and putt, driving range and glass-clad lakeside chapel to complete upgrade. It will be a destination for the whole Sunshine Coast community, not just limited to those avid golf lovers and/or Palm Lake Resort residents.

From a design perspective, Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters will take its inspiration from Palm Springs and will be quite the holiday-everyday destination when complete. Inspiration for this design theme stems from Palm Lake Group’s desire to create a residential resort that cultivates a sunny state of mind while channeling the Palm Springs brand of mid-century modernism. Think clean geometric architecture, natural material finishes and strategic pops of bright colour to brighten the every day.
