GOLFERS today demand a lot from their shoes and that’s why adidas Golf has transformed the upper of its ZG21 and made it even more sustainable.

The new ZG21 Motion range perfectly combines fit with function, and it offers golfers of all skill levels a high-performance spiked shoe that’s lightweight with zero compromises.

Whether it was one of the company’s tour professionals or an everyday club golfer, they all wanted the same thing – a high-performance spiked shoe that’s lightweight and extremely comfortable.

Well, golfers got that with the ZG21, but now there is even more comfort with the ZG21 Motion.

So, what is the difference between ZG21 and ZG21 Motion?

ZG21 is adidas Golf’s high-performance spiked shoe that’s lightweight with zero compromises.

That doesn’t change with ZG21 Motion.

Golfers still get the Lightstrike with encapsulated BOOST cushioning midsole, Ultra-light Stability Fin and Swingplane Traction.

The major change is that they have taken its Sprintskin upper and transformed it into an engineered textile that’s made with recycled materials.

“This is just part of our mission as a brand to help end plastic waste,” a company spokesperson said.

This new upper uses roller knit with hydrophobic yarns that don’t absorb water as well as strategically placed TPU films for added waterproofing along with the great feel, stretchability and adaptivity you expect from a textile upper. It offers a one-year waterproof warranty, and the textile gives it a unique design aesthetic.

Long story short, upper is fully sustainable and engineered for golf in performance and protection.

What are the key features of the ZG21 Motion Family?

They’ve taken their newest model, the ZG21 that was introduced in February and have made it more sustainable with ZG21 Motion.

This model introduces another chapter for ZG21 by incorporating a textile upper made with a minimum of 50 percent recycled content.

The line also introduces a new BOA® model for men and women that features a sock-like opening for added stability and the new PerformFit™ Wrap powered by the BOA Fit System.

This ‘Y’-strap design creates a secure fit over the instep and provides flexibility and freedom in the toe box.

Both ZG21 and ZG21 Motion outsoles feature an ultra-thin TPU construction, six strategically placed cleats, and a new crescent moon-shaped secondary lug to optimise grip, support and performance while ultimately reducing weight.

ZG21 comes in four models: men’s laced, men’s and women’s BOA® and a simplified laced offering for junior golfers. The new ZG21 Motion comes in men’s laced and men’s and women’s BOA®.

The ZG21 franchise is all about providing golfers with a shoe that is lightweight but with zero compromises.

Knowing lightweight was so important for adidas Golf, the concept of “weightlessness” kept coming up as inspiration throughout out design process.

To be clear, even though the shoe isn’t weightless or offers “zero gravity”, the company wanted to honour that concept that drove them throughout the creation process in a unique way.

So, “ZG” is a subtle nod to that “weightlessness” idea that pushed adidas Golf day-after-day and ultimately got them to where they are today.

“ZG21 is truly a breakthrough feat in spiked performance,” Masun Denison, global footwear director, adidas Golf said.

“We were able to combine the latest and greatest materials, innovations and manufacturing processes without sacrificing anything. It changes the game for those who love spiked footwear.”

All ZG21 Motion models will be available online at adidas.com.au/golf and at select retailers from today.
