Australian Golf Clubs have been lining up to host a regional qualifying event of The Auto Club Golf Championship (ACGC) since the PGA announced they were officially endorsing the event. The ACGC began in 2012 with 45 events and in a short two years has expanded significantly with an expected 85 events being held in the 2014/15 series.

Tournament Director John Harriss has confirmed that the long-term plan allows for yet another 15 events to be held in the future series when the schedule will be locked at 100 qualifying events spread around Australia. With the event going from strength to strength, clubs are frantically trying to secure one of the coveted spots to ensure they fix their event as part of the ongoing calendar.

Like in the first two series, the winning pair from every one of the regional events will receive travel and accommodation, plus three days of Championship golf, social functions and frivolity during the 2014/15 Championship Final being held at Australia’s home of Championship Golf, RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland.

So make sure your local club seizes the opportunity to host an event. Not only could you find yourselves enjoying a sensational trip to Queensland’s home of Championship Golf in 2015. It could be you who has the honour of being crowned the 2014/15 ACGC Australian Amateur Golf Pair.
