The Sands Torquay

A short trip down the famed Surf Coast offers a variety of challenging and picturesque seaside courses that offer a true test of golf. The Stuart Appleby-designed Sands Torquay is one of these courses. Moonah Links: Legends Course

Written by Inside Golf
moonahlinks100.jpg“When golf ceases to be fun it ceases to be golf.” I can’t recall exactly where I read that but the quote came back to me as we made our way around The Legends Course at Moonah Links. I had played the Open course once before and while “The Leviathan” (as designer PeterThomson likes to call it) has a certain masochistic appeal, fun is not generally a word one would associate with it. It’s younger brother, on the other side of the clubhouse, is a totally different kettle of fish. The Open course was designed to test the game’s elite while The Legends was designed for the rest of us and both do their job well. Read more...
