Long-serving supers recognised
The AGCSA Newsletter announced that a number of long-serving NSW course superintendents were recognised for their years of service to the industry at the NSWGCSA Annual General Meeting held earlier this week. The Toro sponsored AGM was held at North Ryde Golf Club (host superintendent and AGCSA member Ron Duffy) with three life members, 41 members and five guests in attendance, including AGCSA general manager John Neylan and AGCSA membership coordinator Lyndel Conway.

Asian golf welcomes Singapore expansion
SINGAPORE, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Asian golf bodies have welcomed the $6 million Singapore Open's move to expand its field and allow more golfers from the region a tilt at glory.
The tournament, Asian richest national Open, will boast an increased field of 204 for the Nov. 11-14 event, which will this year be headed by Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Adam Scott.

NZ golfer Smail admits to affair
New Zealand's No. 1 golfer David Smail is taking time out to work on his marriage after he admitted to an affair with a Japanese woman. Smail, 40, who has won more than $NZ10 million ($A8 million) during 13 years on the Japanese tour, ended an affair with Sato Kurihara, 27, three weeks ago.

New subdivision underway at Queenstown’s Millbrook
Development of a new $2.9 million subdivision is now underway at Queenstown’s world-class Millbrook Resort. Confident Links Living developers may start by end of year
DEVELOPERS of the former Geelong golf course site claim work could start by the end of this year after receiving 100 expressions of interest from would-be residents. Links Living spokesman Stephen Head said recent publicity for the development had created a lot of interest from would-be residents keen to live around the proposed nine-hole golf course.
