For those of you who’ve been long-time readers of Inside Social Golf, you’ll have certainly noticed a few changes in this month’s issue. Starting with the name. We’re pleased to introduce you to Inside Golf, formerly known as Inside Social Golf.
We’re pleased to introduce you to Inside Golf, formerly known as Inside Social Golf.
So why change the name?
From our humble beginnings as a 36-page newspaper focusing mostly on social golf, the publication has grown and expanded over the years to include a full complement of golf-related articles, offers, tips and products. From club membership features, to golf travel, to golf news & instruction and our new Industry News section, the publication is now packed (at a massive 56 pages!) with more in-depth Australian golf coverage than ever before.
But make no mistake, social golf and social golfers are still a key part of our offering – as that group remains a steadily growing segment in the Australian golf world – but we now offer more content for club golfers, women golfers, juniors, seniors and everyone in between. And, of course, we will strive to deliver the same industry-leading content that has made Inside Social Golf Australia’s number one golf publication.
So who are all these new writers and editors?
Yep – you’ll see a few new names on the contributors list. Many of you will recognise Rob Vanderzalm, Mike Orloff and David Newbery. These guys are all tops in the industry, with a combined 35+ years of golf experience under their belts. We’re very excited to have them on board, as we know they will deliver some of the best local, national and international golf content in the industry.
As for me, well, you’ll probably remember my name from various features for this publication over the last few years – contributing course reviews, travel pieces, feature articles and more (and even snapping up a photojournalism award along the way). I’ve been playing the game for over 30 years, seen my handicap rise and fall (and rise again!) in a manner that would give a yo-yo vertigo, and have lost balls on some of the world’s best courses, including the US, Central America, South Africa, Malaysia, Europe and beyond.
It’s an exciting time here at Inside Golf. We’re thrilled to embark on this new era, and we hope you enjoy the ride with us!
